Tennis Matchplay Sessions.
Our weekly tennis matchplay sessions are intended to fill a need for young players between 12 and 18 years of age to actually "play" the game of tennis. It is not a substitute for coaching, it's a complimentary activity.
Our experience has shown that, particularly for this age group, there are very few opportunities for them to play and to develop a love for the game.
We began our programme by offering play sessions during school holidays and that has now developed into us being able to offer not just a holiday programme but also a limited number of places in this weekly scheme. We meet every Saturday afternoon during school term time and (usually) on Wednesday afternoons during school holidays.
Along with the chance to play weekly, we also offer players in this scheme the opportunity to take part in box leagues.
Box leagues are a form of league in which each player in a "box" plays all of the other players in the box, often referred to as a"Round Robin", scoring points for wins. At the end of the round, the box winner is the player with the most points. The matches are singles, are arranged by the players themselves and are played on their own time. By doing this, we hope it encourages players to take "ownership" of their tennis and develop in the social and competitive aspects of the game.

Summer Holiday Tennis and Badminton ProgrammeSo many young people joined us this summer at The Parklangley Club. Badminton was very well supported, over 50 places.
Tennis was also well supported by our regular Matchplay players supplemented by some "Pay to Play". WELL DONE.
